Value Your Reward System

Once you decide to stop rewarding yourself, you will begin to achieve true benefits. Change the way your body seeks and acquires rewards so that a substitute of true inner desire can take its place. Allow yourself to feel desire & craving. Recognize its presence and its benefits. DON’T stop feeling it! Soon enough the subconscious wants will turn into conscious needs, and the true desires of your heart will manifest through your actions.

Suppress the want. Embrace the need. Begin the hunt. It’s time, indeed.

Your brain is hard-wired to grasp onto rewards. Advertising and marketing agencies, along with social media platforms, are targeting your reward system to keep you interactive. These agencies know exactly what you like, why you like it, and how to give you more of it. Don’t get sucked in to anything that lacks meaning or purpose.

We have a circuitry built on a chemical release of dopamine and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are quickly activated through the use of sugar, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, porn, even phone and computer use: Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat etc. (getting likes, scrolling through pictures). When you stop using these EASY tools of self-satisfaction, you find yourself engaging with your environment to find a plane of existence that is higher than mundane pleasure. Who knows what rewards you will find when you stop taking the easy route!

Your reward system is what makes you want to conquer and seize the day. Don’t let anything take that drive away from you.
